Thwack

I got doored on Friday night. My right collarbone is snapped
but I am otherwise not badly injured. Hopefully the bike is safe down at Swansea central nick until tomorrow. Keep out of the door zone, peeps. It's not like me to get caught in it, but my riding skills were probably a bit impaired - I recall capitulating to a quick round of something called Fireballs just as I was making the crucial calculation about having had About Enough Beer In Town before setting off towards lasties at the local.

Thanks Dunckel. The pain is minimal as long as I don't try to do anything, so my pain management strategy for today involves watching crap telly and eating pies.

Sorry to hear that, @The Real Ravenhurst. Get well soon, and I look forward to our very own pie thread.

Eek, hope the bike is OK. The broken-collarbone club is a rather exclusive one x

Oh no.....I hope you heal soon and the bike is OK. The Prof sends her best wishes. Gravel is also on hand if any surgery is needed (his Swiss Army knife is polished and sharpened).

Wow. And OUCH! And GWS!
I don't like to call you lucky, but I have heard some horrors around dooring that make it seem like a broken collarbone is getting off lightly.
Heal well. I'll share my recovery story later if it seems useful and wanted.
P.S. Fireballs? I just googled that, and it came back with a brand of cinnamon "whiskey" that 2 of the first 5 search results were "8/9 reasons not to drink fireball". Seems we have the 9th/10th.

Ouch hope the alcohol numbed the initial pain and the NHS have provide a suitable replacement for pain control. Rest well x
