It's not moonshine. That is marketing to yuppies hipsters (the difference is subtle - the tattoos give it away; also the youngest yuppy is in their 50s). It will contain no methanol. It's just shitty tasting ethanol packaged in jars. Consistent application may destroy your liver (& cause breast cancer etc) but it won't make you blind.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing it's not actually moonshine, I have imbibed Italian grappa, Russian potato vodka and Irish poteen and all of them were sadly eclipsed by the "fake" versions created by InBev. And the fake versions were packaged in nice easy-to-pour-from bottles, not giant "mayonnaise" jars, apparently reused, but obviously especially made, because who is buying 750ml of mayonnaise? 300mls/grammes sure, but more than that you are getting 5 litres of catering quality.

Having spent several hours harvesting grapes from my vine to make white wine, it seems that wild yeasts have been busy, producing a strong whiff of ethyl acetate in the juice. I'll call it "natural" and pretend it's supposed to be like that.

Friends are travelling in first on overnight train to Edinburgh. They told me the bar shuts at 9pm, so they are going to have to "improvise".

What I actually did was break open the chemicals: a hefty dose of sodium metabisulphite cured it and it's now fermenting strongly.

A wee tipple in the evenings, Fijian iced tea and a mai tai.

Is Kava booze? It isn't fermented but has some of the soporific qualities of alcohol and is guaranteed not to make you fighty. Though I can tell you that when taken with spirits it does cause the weirdest dreams.

Rob says it makes him sick......but he’s not sure if it’s the communal drinking from the same cup or the kava itself. So he’s keeping clear of it.

Very wise, Dunckel was very unsteady on his feet.

Look what turned up from the gin club today...
Stumbled on this in a nearby street.

If you can't make out the photos it's a liquor cabinet, probably from the 50s. Notice the martini glass and cocktail shaker details on the back mirror.

My grandmother had one of those, only with more gilt and mirrors and shiny stuff. It made an excellent space station for Lego spaceships.
