Cesar Augustus lager IPA. Best of both worlds as they claim, or neither one thing nor the other? More the former than the latter.

Sorry for terrible photo, I only had my unsmart phone with me in one of my favourite quirky Brighton venues which was channelling the blackout. I enjoyed two of these rude-label wheat beers last night, while enjoying 'wartime food' and watching a short documentary about the 75% female workforce that rebuilt Waterloo Bridge between 1939 and 1945 - hence it's nickname 'The Ladies' Bridge'. It was fascinating, a bit of women's history that has almost been lost. The wartime food was shepherd's pie followed by bread-and-butter pudding (rather than Spam, as I had feared).

Another nice IPA bought from M&S brewed by the Allendale Brewery. Lovely light refreshing taste - a bit more-ish.

I thought there was meant to be a Brewdog boycott?

I've still got an Elvis Juice in the fridge, bored of it now.

Taking on board the deserved forgetting the Brewdog boycott rebuke, here is another sour. No hops, just a load of berries and brewed as a colab between Gypsy Hill and https://peoplelikeus.dk/ a Danish brewery run by people from socially marginalized groups.
Leaving the politics aside for a second, the beer is a superb example of the sour genre. It really is a fruit smoothie of a beer. Add in the politics and it scores a bonus point or two

Tomos Watkins Cwrw Haf. An uncomplicated golden ale, zesty with some fruity esters and bready notes. Hop character a bit too muted. A solid summer session beer but not quite the thing for a wet and windy afternoon in West Wales.

Arundel brewery maple syrup, chocolate, & coffee stout. At 5.4% a bit lower in strength than the type would normally be. Lush
