Dates on threads

One thing I miss from CC is how threads/posts initially show on the board listings as "today", rather than the date. I'm a bit "number-blind" and don't always recognise the date as being a week ago! Is there any way to set things up so that new material shows as posted today during the current 24 hours, before reverting to a date?
