We got a couple of miles walk in with Jack. Luckily we have a farm just across the road. Saw several other people walking digs but everyone kept their distance.

The house is beginning to smell of tonight’s dinner: slow cooked Moroccan lamb stew, using lambs neck, bursting with spices (coriander, cinnamon, turmeric, cumin, chilli) and dried fruit (apricots, prunes and figs). It won’t be ready for another four hours but the smell is already heavenly.

I've just had to explain to my brother that saying I look like Peter Capaldi (with photographic evidence) is not a compliment.

I'm really pissed off with him.

Apparently it was his way of saying I looked cool.

I think he's been socially distancing ahead of the rest of us.

(maybe if I watched Dr Who I would have got that, but no one wants to look like Malcolm Tucker)

As mentioned elsewhere, I have just logged on to FB for the first time in years. Sadly, Facebook bullshit loyalty tests are still a thing.
I normally hate this kind of thing, but I could do with a pick-me-up, walk down memory lane....

I think a lot of people know me. Our paths in life crossed in different ways. I decided to participate in an experience called "a meeting". The idea is to see who reads a post without photo ' We are so immersed in technology that we forgot the most important thing, good friendship. If no one reads this message, it will be a short social experience. But if you read this until the end I would like you to comment with a word about us. For example, a place, an object, a person, a moment, things you make me think of. So copy this text and post it on your profile (don't share it) and I'll go to your profile to leave a word that makes me think of you. Don't write comments if you don't have time to copy the text. This will ruin the experience. Let's see who had the time.
ARGH!

On a brighter note, I am starting to lean into the Capaldi thing. 👴 👵

Me too, and would no more respond to them than I would send on a chain letter (showing my age there). I was recently tagged on FB to do one of those 'a favourite book every day for seven days' things, but I'm afraid I just ignored it.

The most difficult one I had (in the post, so some time ago) was from a friend's daughter who was desperately trying to raise funds for some training course or other. It was a chain letter where you send a pound coin to five different people, and allegedly eventually the originator gets an avalanche of pound coins in return. I sent her letter back to her with an apologetic explanation for why it wouldn't work, but I don't think she forgave me for a very long time.

I've just renewed my car insurance and, despite a claim from last year, my premium has gone down by 10%.

Some good news...

Despite all the Covid19 stuff, I'm getting a bonus - and getting paid it this week. It's not as much as it could have been but better then nothing.

I shall squirrel it away for when I can plan a Camino.

That's lucky, at a time when so many people are suddenly losing their incomes altogether.
