How do they identify whether or not you need this module?
I suspect it falls into a similar bracket and adds some more specific detail to the safe guarding modules. It's everyones responsibility to be aware and report if you feel necessary and as I'm likely to be front facing it's relevant.
I have to say that much of it felt way above my pay grade but I think things have been cobbled together at a break neck speed given the circumstances.

From the Guardian:
The UK lockdown could be driving down the number of people one person who has coronavirus infects, preliminary estimates by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine suggest.

It estimates that before the lockdown one positive person would infect 2.6 other people, but says measures introduced by the government mean that number could now be just 0.62.

A study by the school describes this number as the reproduction number – the average number of people who will catch a disease from a single infected person. Experts say that maintaining this figure below one means the epidemic will decline.
(my bold)
Gnaaar. That - that keeping the reproduction number below one means the epidemic declines - isn't something that you need "experts" to tell you....

(and yes, I am definitely starting to get things out of proportion.)

Edit: Joan's reply makes me realise my post wasn't very clearly written. It's not that I expect everyone to know the significance of the reproduction number, and I think it's good that the Guardian are educating people about it. But the "experts say..." formulation is usually used for something that is cutting edge and possibly a little controversial. "Experts say that the dam may not be able to hold back the water" is fair enough; "experts say that if water enters the dam at a faster rate than it leaves it, the water level will rise" seems a bit silly?

I understand what R0 means now, but that's from listening to media reports. I am sure there are people who are still catching up.

But that is exciting news.

True fact, I went for a walk last night for exercise and considered stopping and buying a bottle of wine (or 2) but a "stay home" scrolling ad made me turn away.

I am a good citizen, doing what I am told. I am happy it's paying off.

Would I be correct to surmise that saying, "I don't need this module. I know all about sexual violence, just ask my ex-wife" would have you escorted from the building?

(Those pesky rhetorical questions are still haunting me)

No, he looks terrible.
I thought, not surprising, but I pressed play and I see he is over the worst.

I hope he has given up homeopathy, and is seeing doctors who know science.

Tom Lehrer has a nice line about the look on the face of a Christian Scientist who discovers he has appendicitis.

Manual handling day today. Been using slide sheets and hoists and transferring people from one bed to another and helping someone out of a chair. Then had a shed load of forms to fill out when I got home.
Loads there, 30 temporary porters, apparently there are more due in tomorrow. The hospital currently has 20 in total, I don't think they think this is going away any time soon.

In other news while eating my dinner I found out from the conversation going on next to me that this is definitely a man made disease to get rid of old people and that York university has lots of Asian students and lots of other universities do too. Leave it Sonic, not on the first day, other opportunities will present themselves.

In other other news they have a lock-up for bikes and I'm hoping to be able to find out a bit more info and check it out tomorrow.

My favourite Covid-related admission this morning, from the Guardian: "I am so bored that I have taught my dog to back away from cheese."

I have just shared this elsewhere. I also include the second bit...

...I put it on Twitter, and someone said: “That’s great – can you teach me?”
