We did, on Titus' Reading to Reading ride.
I'm open minded, but Reading to Reading might be the least appealing ride invitation it is possible to achieve in three words.

Re: Meanwhile...

Less taxing than the Netherlands? Really? I wasn't aware that the tour stayed in one place this year either. As I dislike boats at the best of times, the idea of that particular ferry crossing was the final nail in the coffin for me! Way beyond mine at the moment too, but on the face of it it looke...

Re: Camino de Santiago (Frances) - Sarria to Santiago

I’m planning to use the Correos Camino service, which ferries your bag for you each day (at €20 for the six days I’d be mad not to), and then just take a small daybag - with a large water bladder and a few bits. That's incredibly good value, although I guess it means deciding where you're staying i...

Re: Camino de Santiago (Frances) - Sarria to Santiago

When you going, Reggers? My mum is something of an aficionado of the Camino Frances . I once joined her for a week, from León to Villafranca del Bierzo. She is an advocate of Thousand Mile Socks and Flexitol Heel Balm, and she keeps her pack down to 5kg. You'd be amazed what some people carry - she ...

Re: Movies

I just watched Get Out; it's something between a horror movie and a comedy of race manners. It's also very good. Because I am white, I was literally horrified at what the white people were saying to the black man. Superficially supportive things, but "Do you play golf? I know Tiger.", very creepy a...

Re: Your Ride Today

I was described as 'exemplary' this morning, for taking some recycling to the tip on my bike! ;D The guy followed up with, 'I was looking for a battery, but I see it's a proper bike.' I've been clearing out the shed, but ferrying the rest of the stuff will have to wait until the weather cools down ...

Re: Posh Nosh

So The Real Ravenshurst hyphenates sous vide, Regulator italicises it, but Iris does neither. What does that reveal about middle classness? TRR should not have hyphenated it, because it wasn't an adjective, and now feels crushed. Iris is so middle class he doesn't need to prove it? Or something lik...

How did I manage to make it to this stage of middle class life without even having heard of pink salt cooking? I feel I'm missing out on an essential experience.
You'll be telling us next that you're not set up for sous-vide chez W.

Any notes of spice and zest are so restrained that they're hidden behind the overwhelming bland notes of very ordinary wheat beer.

Don't bother.
Don't say you weren't warned...

I've got the knackered bolt out! These reversey-wotsits are very handy, aren't they?

Re: Broken Barrel Adjuster Screw

Oooh thanks for all the helpfulness and generosity. I could use either the bolt that holds the pads in from the Spyre, ideally with the mini p-clip thingy, or a miscellaneous front disc caliper of whichever sort is going spare . Thanks!
