Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

I've got intermittent AF. I'm down for cardioversion but it's some months away. It's also not really an option for intermittent AF as you need to be in AF when it's done. I'm planning to ask the consultant about going straight to ablation. I saw a cardiologist last week, has taken me off apixaban a...

99?

Are you not familiar with "World in Motion" then, featuring John Barnes' rap and Chris Waddle's mullet?

Also featuring Keith Allen BTW, of Vindaloo fame.
I remember it well, it was the day New Order died.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

Soooooo, Portugal holiday still on the cards for mid-July. We'll both be doublevaccined by then, though Boy1 (19) and Boy2 (16) won't. Easyjet are advertising tests for £60 a pop. What do you reckon? We can still cancel. Go for it? Anyone think that they'll drop the testing requirement to lateral f...

Re: Meanwhile...

There is a long-ish flight of steps outside the door of St George's chapel. The pall-bearers (Royal Marines I think) had to carry it up the steps. They managed it perfectly, as you would logically expect. But managing coffins at shoulder height is not trivial - every time a family insist on carryin...

Prince Phillip Anecdote.... When I were a wee boy we lived in America for a couple of years. He was doing a tour presumably near to where we lived and so of course we visited. He patted me on the head and said to my parents "He is very brown isn't he?"* * For context I'm not black but tan very easily.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

For those of you with travel booked, may I ask, is your criterion "as long as the government rules allow it, we're going", or are you going to be applying an extra criterion of your own assessment of risk? Would there be circumstances where the government allowed it but you still decided not to go?...
