The blatant self-promotion thread
(Might as well make it official. And with apologies to Joan.) Come one, come all to Not Another Cycling Forum .net, the farthest place you can be away from other human beings. Featuring philosophers , detectorists , and a maze into the depths of hell. We celebrated our 10th anniversary last year (no...

Re: Panic over. You are now free to worry about important things.
I accidentally let prettygoodbritain.com lapse the other day because I'd stopped checking the old email address of record (having moved completely to gmail) and missed the invoice. Fortunately I caught it before all was lost.
I own 4 domains, which is probably 3 too many.

Re: Panic over. You are now free to worry about important things.
Welcome to astronomical autumn, or as we like to call it across the microplastic laden pond, fall. Because of the leaves. I probably didn't have to explain that. Though I left the States a long time ago, and may never be going back even to visit, it'll always be home. Well, my second home. My third ...

Re: Panic over. You are now free to worry about important things.
Time flies! [Check calendar] Oh, it's only been 4 days. I lose track in my bunker. I appear to be alone here, which is a scenario I'm familiar with. First order of business is deciding whether to start a new thread documenting whatever is passing through my mind at the moment – within reason – or st...

Re: Panic over. You are now free to worry about important things.
https://youtu.be/meoQCnBBR-w One of my favourite songs. I see Joan is still paying rent. I've paid rent all my adult life: never been a homeowner – and never shall be. Fortunately I've been lucky enough to live in some amazing places, the tradeoff being a very uncertain future in my decrepitude. Wit...

https://i.imgur.com/0kRksnD.jpg There are desk jobs, and there are desk jobs Dry your eyes! Sometimes I try to cheer myself up by scrolling my scrapbook. I’ve visited the big 4 (BM/V&A/Natural History/Science) in excess of a thousand times now, which you'd think would be enough to satisfy...

Re: TV/Streaming shows
I really enjoyed For all mankind which is a what if the Russians got to the moon scenario. Another enjoyable one which resulted in the continuation of space exploration beyond what actually happened and, inadvertently, female astronauts much sooner then in our reality. https://i.imgur.com/09Cm5J1.j...

Re: TV/Streaming shows
I didn’t really get into Squid Game until the tug of war, which was brilliant.
My favourite recent streamathon has been The Queen’s Gambit, which I just watched again.
Still waiting for Better Call Saul and Ozark to finish their runs.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread
Another member of the 3 jabs club here. I'm immunosuppressed, or so they tell me, so technically mine wasn't a booster, but it's the same thing (perhaps with the addition a blessing over the needle by a member of clergy).
