Re: TINGE to CHANGE

I can't bring myself to vote for those LibDem scumbags, ever since Norman Baker stood on my doorstep in the Lewes constituency and promised that a vote for him would 'keep the Tories out', the lying unprincipled little toad. I'd vote Tory before I ever vote for them, i.e., never.

Re: TINGE to CHANGE

I will probably still vote Labour. I don't regard that as a vote for no deal Brexit. I regard it (i.e. a strong Labour party) as the most hopeful (out of a poor selection of alternatives) long-term strategic option for resisting Farage/Johnson/Rees Mogg. If this was a general election I'd agree wit...

Re: Art News

I suppose it is an approximation of what she looked like, but I don't much like it.

Re: Art News

Anyone like to hazard a guess as to who this is?

I'm afraid it was 'Heaven on Their Minds' from Jesus Christ Superstar.

Re: Meanwhile...

By an amazing coincidence, I was chatted up by a young (really, c.16?) Belgian man in London yesterday. I was sitting on a wall my own, eating a sandwich, and I think his giggly friends dared him to go over and talk to me. Eventually he said, <accent> "You have stolen my heart." I said, "But I'm old...

Can I just say, if I have not said it before, that I am more than a little bit in love with Louis Theroux?
This week's castaway on Desert Island Discs, and very interesting, although his choice of the one record he'd keep over all the others was appalling, I'm afraid. :D

Re: TV/Streaming shows

I've not met him, so cant comment and so I certainly wouldn't reduce myself to be like one of his audience members and condemn him... Come off it. Kyle's name has been on this shite for sixteen years, it's not as if he didn't understand the mechanism by which he has been making a good living. I not...

Re: TV/Streaming shows

Am glad its now off air, could never stand to watch it, car crash of a show goading and exploiting the vulnerable. Apparently guests were put up in 5 star hotels the night before, all expenses paid and therapy / support was provided afterwards. So what? It was purely for "entertainment" no altruism...

Re: TV/Streaming shows

An Insider's Guide to UKIP and the Brexit Party? He could use the same participants and audience... they'd only need to change the titles and scenery. I realise that you have a huge amount of scorn for anyone who supports UKIP and Brexit (and, to a certain extent, so do I), but I think your remarks...

Re: TV/Streaming shows

So, no more Jeremy Kyle show. I wonder what he will be doing next, giving that ITV say they will still be 'working with him' in the future?

Re: TV/Streaming shows

I just accidentally saw a bit of the Eurovision semifinals - Australia's entry featured three women balancing on bendy sticks, it was hilarious.

Re: Meanwhile...

I just learned something about bees (off the radio): if you spill honey all over your jumper (as this young man did on a camping trip), hang the jumper on the washing line and bees will come and clean every last bit of the honey off. How have I lived so many years on this earth and not heard of this...
