Re: Meanwhile...

One of the things that has struck me about the coverage of the Notre Dame fire is the lack of coverage about the fire at the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem...

Re: Derek Hatton

This was a thread where we were talking about people being accused of being anti-Semitic for making comments that some of us would have been quite happy to make ourselves. So here is the next example. Labour MP Richard Burgon is in trouble for having said: "The enemy of the Palestinian people is no...

Re: Kalkhoff Sahel 3.i Move

What does Mr R say? I like the fluorescent green colour but couldn’t justify getting another bike yet........that’s the trouble with downsizing our living arrangements - there’s fewer places to hide bikes from the Prof. As usual, he is failing entirely to understand the n+1 imperative. That said, I...

Kalkhoff Sahel 3.i Move

I had a test ride on a Kalkhoff Sahel 3 a couple of weeks ago, after trying the eKatu at the London Cycle Show. The Kalkhoff Sahel 3 is about £100 cheaper than the Katu-e 20 equivalent and has a much better range. The only real difference is hydraulic rim brakes -v- disc brakes and a front basket -v...

Re: Meanwhile...

Ha ha ha!! I'll ask. He stayed in an AirBnB apartment in Shoreham on the Saturday night. He forgot his tooth paste and had a look in the cupboard in the bathroom to see if a previous guest had left a tube. He didn't find any but did find a bottle, supposedly of aftershave, with a webcam on its top....

Re: Meanwhile...

We went to the seaside today... any visit to Southwold inevitably includes a trip to Adnams (whose shop and cafe is dog friendly).

Jon and I are now relaxing with an Orange & Sea Buckthorn G&T. A very nice limited edition from Adnams.

Re: Derek Hatton

My mother has just got back (on Wednesday) from her second trip/pilgrimage to Israel. She's said she won't be going back. They had the misfortune of being there during the finale of the election and she found the atmosphere generally was markedly different to when she went 4 years ago. She found the...

I've seen that IRL. Maybe at the people's vote march?
I'm not sure it was exactly that one - but you're right, there were several Rick Astley placards on the march.

Re: Bollocks to Brexit

Dear Department for Health & Social Care

When you issue new guidance to the NHS on Brexit preparations and proposed changes to the charging regime for EU citizens, it would be helpful if you sent it to *all* NHS providers...
