Re: Bollocks to Brexit

It appears that some ardent Brexshiteers have been telling all their mates to join the Tory party so that they can vote in someone who will "deliver Brexshit". I don't think they've spotted that you have to have been a party member for three months at the time the election is called in order to vote...

Re: TINGE to CHANGE

It is the price you pay for aspiring to have values, you will always fail somewhere and provide ammunition for portrayal as a hypocrite. If, on the other hand, you have no values beyond greed and self-promotion, you can shrug off each and every example of your abhorrent behaviour. Which of those is...

Re: Raising the limit for speeds of electric bikes

So there is a heated debate going on in the cycling community about whether the speed limit for e-bikes should be raised. Is there? I've seen little about it other than via 'another place'. Much of the argument against this idea seems to me to be of the "people who don't know how to ride a bike wil...

Change to Cycle to Work Scheme

The Government has announced changes to the Cycle to Work Scheme that will make it easier to get more expensive bikes, including electric bikes, through the scheme. Some of the media is suggesting that the previous limit was £1,000 - but this isn't actually true. There's never been a fixed limit on ...

This just arrived in my mailbox from the local vicar
I think your vicar is grasping at straws. The helicopter would have had to be hovering very close to the roof - and it would have to have been in very poor repair to start with.

Boris is heading for court over his pre-referendum lies! Any bets on what the outcome will be? https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/may/29/boris-johnson-appear-court-eu-referendum-misconduct-claims Excellent news! I did think pressure might be brought to bear on the District Judge not to issue...

Re: Private purchases, goods damaged in transit

It was in the classifieds on a motorbike forum. I've reported it to the forum owner but I don't think they've got any sway either. Personally, I'd write pointing out that the goods were received in a damaged state and therefore not fit for purpose/as described. Ask for the goods to be collected and...
