Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

My employer has now confirmed that it will not be expecting staff to go back to office based work until February/March next year - if they want to. They will be opening head office and the regional back office functions in the next couple of weeks, but with significantly reduced capacity, which will...

How's he finding things at the moment considering the mud that's being slung in their direction by HM Gov?
He’s fine.

PHE is clearly going to be blamed for every Covid issue arising from Test & Trace...

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

Brother in law works for PHE. They were told last Friday to ignore the figures being published by the government, that R is a little below 2, and that they and their families should act as if they were in lockdown.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

So if someone needed surgery (life-changing but not life-saving), but the NHS waiting list, for understandable reasons, was a year or so, but there was the option to go private except that it would mean a big credit-card debt and going against deepy-held principles, what would you do? (Asking for a...

Re: Meanwhile...

I had a few days down with the Coven this weekend. Despite her health scare, Mum is in fine fettle. First time of seeing them since the New Year.

I think I shall venture into the city centre for the first time since March. I don’t need anything in particular- I’m just interested in what it will be like.

Re: Well, that's a new one...

I got tooted yesterday for not holding someone up! The opposite lane was closed to through traffic, there were no cars in, I was going to turn right anyway and there are plenty of escape routes, so I just moved into "on coming traffic" (there was none) to let the cars behind me move faster. A few m...

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

We visited a pub last night for the first time in months. We popped in after taking Jack for a walk. The pub had a one way system with a shielded bar and all the seating was outside. Not many people there.

I’m not sure if this made me laugh or cry.... Nadine Dorries tries to call out the Liverpool Echo for “fake news” and they point out that they’re literally quoting her from Parliament the day before https://twitter.com/liamthorpecho/status/1278645923271315457?s=21 Dorries is only in the government ...
