Re: France bans Dutch bike TV ad for creating 'climate of fear' about cars

Bit daft of the French...

... but those van Moof are overengineered anyway. And come with 'integrated' (i.e. bloody uncomfortable and impractical) saddles.

Re: TV/Streaming shows

Anyone else been watching Samira Ahmed's 'Art of Persia' on BBC4? If you're into art, Persian/Islamic architecture, history or poetry it's well worth a watch.

I really want to visit Iran... once they get Covid under control.

Re: Twitter watch

Allison Pearson's on her last warning I think. Hopefully, she'll follow Hatie Katie in getting a permanent ban.

Re: In the news...

The case is being discussed on the Today programme... Neomi Bennett comes across very credibly.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/18/nurse-claims-met-police-wrongfully-arrested-her-because-she-black-neomi-bennett Has anyone followed this case and watched the police bodycam footage? I could easily believe that the initial decision to stop her car was racist, but I'd be interested what...

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

Apparently 20-30% of people who have coronavirus test negative. I'm wary of those sort of statistics... The PCR tests themselves are quite accurate. The problem is usually with the sample - either not being taken properly (it's quite difficult to administer - especially to yourself), mislabelled or...

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

Some good news...

Mr R's test came back negative and he's now had the jab* in the vaccine trial. He was briefly pictured in the report on the local BBC news last night.

*We don't whether its the actual vaccine or the placebo vaccine.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

One of Mr R's colleagues has developed Covid19, so he requires a test. He was told about this last week - but the first NHS test available was today (five days later). My employer did say that they would test him on Friday or Saturday of last week if he wanted but he'd already booked the appointment...

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

We had our first work-related Covid19 death last week. We have only two Covid sites and it was a nurse - with a young family - from one of those sites.
