Re: TV/Streaming shows

I rather enjoyed the first episode of the remake of 'The Name of the Rose' on BBC2. Rupert Everett is good as the malevolent Bernard Gui, although I do find John Tururro a little strange as William of Baskerville. The eye candy is provided by Damian Hardung. Re: Meanwhile...

We’re back! Bar yesterday, the weather was OK. The downside of the week was my phone decided to die on me - so I spent the week without access to the outside world. And I now have to buy a new phone. Good news was that I found out Sainsbury’s do their own label orange gin - and very good it is too!

There is a man with a little stand at Cobham Services on the M25 promoting Brexit readiness.
Are you sure that's not just the AA man? :D

Re: Meanwhile...

A week? I hope you bought 6 more. I'll be taking 3 or 4 different gins. Jon's taking rum and whisky, along with several bottles of vermouth, triple sec etc. for cocktail making. There's also quite a lot wine in my car boot and we'll be stopping at the supermarket in Crewe to pick up some beer. Plus...

Re: Bollocks to Brexit

Surely Boris hasn't been lying when he's been telling Parliament, the media, the DUP, the ERG, his financial backers and the public that he won't ask for another extension? Surely not...

Re: Bollocks to Brexit

https://fullfact.org/health/130000-preventable-deaths-austerity/ As usual the truth is a bit more complex than a slogan or a cheap headline. In any case, drawing a parallel between a failure to improve public health and the deliberate slaughter of millions is not worthy of you. There are enough eff...

No - the Nuremberg defence was in the face of charges of committing or enabling mass murder and genocide. Which is rather different from doing one's job as an MP.

Re: Bollocks to Brexit

I used to think that most sensible people would realise that there are valid reasons for leaving the EU, but it seems as though we all have to unequivocally pick a side. I believe that there are valid reasons for criticising the EU and seeking change within the EU - but I don't believe that these e...
