Re: Meanwhile...

A Tory Party canvasser just called at the door. I think he might be regretting that decision, as I made my views bluntly clear.

Re: Meanwhile...

Prince Phillip Anecdote.... When I were a wee boy we lived in America for a couple of years. He was doing a tour presumably near to where we lived and so of course we visited. He patted me on the head and said to my parents "He is very brown isn't he?"* * For context I'm not black but tan very easi...

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

I had my second jab of AZ yesterday and I woke up this morning with a slightly achey arm, which I’m hoping is a sign that an immune response is being invoked.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

For those of you with travel booked, may I ask, is your criterion "as long as the government rules allow it, we're going", or are you going to be applying an extra criterion of your own assessment of risk? Would there be circumstances where the government allowed it but you still decided not to go?...

Haven't made plans. Australia is sadly far out of reach, and probably will remain so for a long time.

Meanwhile, I am imagining a shepherd's hut just north of Richmond, Surrey 🤔

We booked for Greece (pre-lockdown) for the end of June. We went last year too. Am still hopeful.

[Posh boots btw]

I’m not sure the boots are posh - but highly recommended by those people with large feet. Butterfly/Joan has a pair and swears by them.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

I’ve just booked a weekend away in North Yorkshire at the end of April. I’m going to get fitted for boots at Alt-Berg. First time we’ve been away from home for about 6 months (our Christmas trip was cancelled).

We’ll be staying in a posh shepherd’s hut on a farm just north of Richmond...

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

Your GP should have been told when you had your first dose and they should arrange the second dose accordingly.

Second dose now booked for Tuesday 6 April. Again, at the Royal Papworth, which is a short cycle from the house.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

I've had taste and smell problems on and off for a while. Yesterday I felt awful, but nothing really developed. This morning I started coughing, so I've been for a test and am waiting on results. If it turns I have been infected, I haven't the faintest idea how - I've barely been near other people ...

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

I thought they did? Be funny if Reg got Pfizer with the new 'state of the art' AZ facility being slap bang next door. I was due to get the Pfizer vaccine but, when I turned up this morning, their delivery hadn’t arrived so I got the AZ vaccine instead - which I was happy with. I have to say, the va...

My vaccination is booked for tomorrow morning at 9.45 am. Luckily it's at the Royal Papworth, on the Addenbrookes campus.

Life has been pretty s**t for a while now and I have been drinking too often, not heavy just too often, so this is for my physical and mental health.
Are you doing it?
Yep. I’ve been drinking too much recently as well, as has Jon.
