Re: TV/Streaming shows

See also the ghastly and unfunny Bridget Jones franchise. I enjoy Bridget Jones (well, 1 and 3 anyway). I plead the TRR defence: I've sort of been counting on being able to watch both good stuff and terrible stuff on the telly without it having much impact on whether I am a good or a bad person.

Re: TV/Streaming shows

I have never watched SATC. Reading Hadley Freeman, that makes me feel like a less good person; reading you, it makes me feel perhaps not such a bad person....

Edit: I've only ever watched a couple of episodes of the Sopranos either, so it probably just makes me a culturally limited person.

Re: TV/Streaming shows

I was enjoying The Pursuit of Love, before I read Hadley Freeman in today's Guardian which makes me feel modestly pleased that I was enjoying it.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

I have uninstalled the Zoe app and no longer supply any data to that study, because Tin Spector has publicly espoused, with the implicit authority of the Zoe study, several political rather than purely scientific positions that I think are misguided.

Re: Meanwhile...

There is a long-ish flight of steps outside the door of St George's chapel. The pall-bearers (Royal Marines I think) had to carry it up the steps. They managed it perfectly, as you would logically expect. But managing coffins at shoulder height is not trivial - every time a family insist on carrying...

Re: Meanwhile...

Some of you may recall that I took a funeral qualification and take a smattering of funerals. As a result I am in two different whatsapp groups of fellow funeral celebrants or funeral directors. They both exploded into life at 3pm today with people talking about just one thing: how you safely carry ...

Re: Small lobbying gains or self delusion?

As I am frequently (and unrepentantly) critical of CUK, can I just say that I actually thought Duncan Dollimore's letter to the Humber Bridge Authority was very good.

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

For those of you with travel booked, may I ask, is your criterion "as long as the government rules allow it, we're going", or are you going to be applying an extra criterion of your own assessment of risk? Would there be circumstances where the government allowed it but you still decided not to go?

HBTRR!!!

Where do you stand on cloudy strong craft beer? Lockdowns made me a big fan, next batch of NEIPA's, DIPA's and even a TIPA due in an hour, hurrah!
'Tis all double dutch to me. Which is ironic as I'm currently working towards my Licencee qualification and thence my Personal Licence 🙃
