Well, that makes it all OK then.

There is the more civilised Crawley meet option.

One for lovers of old machinery and choking air. Meet with Topcat at HPC 07:30 or East Croydon station main exit at 08:45. Elevenses at Aforgato in Crawley if still open, which is sadly in doubt.
Trains are scheduled to be running between Brighton and East Croydon that day.

It was indeed fine. The route variations worked well, the weather was clement, there were no punctures or mechanicals, the scouts even seemed happy with us pitching up early. All in all, a great end of season ride. Had I had better functioning lights, it would have been even more enjoyable.
