Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

Oh, I was in what-is-allowed-under-the-law mode. No. I would not let an unvaccinated child hang around with another unvaccinated person who was recently exposed to coronavirus. It's not safe. While of course teens generally brush off the infection, it's worth noting that of the 16 people in ICU in S...

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

This one... https://www.burmahillssurgery.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/coronavirus-what-happens-if-someone-in-your-family-gets-sick.jpg That makes no sense. Child 2 has been in close contact with someone who tested positive, the dad. They should isolate. I don't know the rules though. Wouldn't...

Re: TV/Streaming shows

It's hardly beyond the pale. It probably started off better. I thought The Public Sector Boromir Requirement gag was funny. Whataboutism seems to last resort of the die hard fan to defend the indefensible. While I'd be surprised is Deadringers has many die hard fans, it's not indefensible. So it ju...

Re: Football Songs

99? Are you not familiar with "World in Motion" then, featuring John Barnes' rap and Chris Waddle's mullet? https://youtu.be/Re4aDJL3heA Also featuring Keith Allen BTW, of Vindaloo fame. Um, no. Google says it was released in 1990. I don't remember hearing it then, though honestly I doubt I would r...

Re: TV/Streaming shows

It just seems like classic whataboutism to me, which is confusing as I am used to seeing it only used to defend something. @@Iris, you aren't defending Deadringers, are you?

Re: Football Songs

I moved here in 99. I have never heard this before (that I recall).

I stared slack-jawed at the video. I don't know what I have just watched.

Re: TV/Streaming shows

I don't mind them saying who they are on Dead Ringers, because I am not sure I would recognise Keir Starmer's voice anyway. But the jokes are risible and often offensive. Particularly bad was their skewering of intimacy coordinators in the first episode. It was a few days after I heard Michaela Coel...

Re: Front light recommendations?

Well, I ended up getting bikehut 1600 lumen behemoth. So far very impressed by it, and sad I didn't buy it a week earlier.

(we are not a cycling forum any longer. Cyclists always nerd out on the subjects of lights 🤓)

Front light recommendations?

A year or so I had my front light stolen** I had been managing around the city since with my previous light, but I tried to ride in complete darkness and it was a fail. I had to ride the brakes downhill because it wasn't bright enough to show potholes (and eventually muntjak deer) at any distance wh...

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

I believe with some of the coronavirus vaccine tests, the placebo was a meningitis vaccine. Will be interesting to know what you got, and what the results are.

Re: Very specific train question

Further, the national rail app actually tells you to call or visit a station to book a bike on SWR.

Laugh might be too strong of a word, but I could not get this person on another forum to understand why her link wasn't working
