Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread
Melbourne is on lockdown again. Same as we had, you stay in your house except for shopping, exercise etc. The tower blocks on lockdown aren't able to open their front door. There are two police offices patrolling each floor. Dystopian nightmare. 😢 What do people in the tower blocks do for food if, ...

I heard a radio programme once about a takeaway called Fernandos, after it's founder and sole-trader owner, which was largely ruined by a lawsuit from Nando's :-(

And there was more, on Loose Ends, poet Luke Wright reading his lockdown poem 'Bring Me My Devil'.

Re: Meanwhile...
Mellow day indoors today, listening to some great radio (Radio 4): 3pm, an absolutely spellbinding adaptation of John Berger's book 'A Fortunate Man', superficially an account of a country GP's life but also a meditation on health and doctoring that didn't falter once. Then later 'Political Thinking...

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread
Today my colleague was complaining about the unfairness of people being paid to sit at home yet we still have to work-I pointed out that nobody chose covid, yes she knows but it still isn't fair. Yes, it must be great sitting at home on 80% of your pay, while your bills and outgoings remain the sam...

You could look at Gear Club, which I think was what YACF used to use; they don't have a minimum order. The Fridays use a different supplier now, which involves the supplier holding the designs and printing off shirts, gilets, etc on demand, but they are quite expensive (or I thought they were anyway).

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/18/nurse-claims-met-police-wrongfully-arrested-her-because-she-black-neomi-bennett Has anyone followed this case and watched the police bodycam footage? I could easily believe that the initial decision to stop her car was racist, but I'd be interested what...

Re: TV/Streaming shows
We're enjoying it a lot too (watched eps 1&2 so far). And it's not hard to see why (apart from some good writing and acting): public health officials as heroes; recommendations to take far-reaching early action pretty unhesitatingly adopted despite the public impact, and seen to have paid off; inte...
