I see Boris is promising that if he becomes leader, old people won't have to die anymore.

I had briefly turned 3rd party cookies back on, and was shocked to see this ad:
The only site I was logged into was this one, and there aren't any tracking cookies on here: how did they work out my name???** I clicked the link and found out, there's an office gadget called Joan!
I briefly wondered at the name, but then remembered
** The most closely targeted ad I had seen before this was "there are single women in Uxbridge right now looking for you" (I don't live in Uxbridge).

I tried to type Romani with my phone (Android/SwiftKey). It autocorrected me to hell and back, so finally I typed Romania and hit the backspace key.
A little later I typed "Romi", and it offered as the first two suggestions "Romulans" and "Romulus". Bloody nerds
(In case you are hoping, like I did, that Romulus refers to the mythical founder of Rome, it does not. Remus was not in the dictionary.)

Learning from John McCririck's obituary that he was once turned down for a job in the Diplomatic Service.

He was clearly unsuitable for diplomatic service.
But if he was still with us, he'd be a shoo in for foreign secretary under Boris - or Jeremy
