Very sad. I liked his humour. I liked his politics.

He was one of my favourite comedians, we saw him whenever he came near us and any radio show was made a magnitude brighter with his presence. This news has really saddened me, far too young.

I just spent a minute on his twitter feed, looking for a post to make me smile..... it did not work :(

A month is a long time for "anytime". What a terrible time for him and his family.

This is so sad, he was both funny and principled. I feel as bad about hearing this news as I did when Linda Smith died.

Jeremy Hardy said this of Linda Smith after her death.

I watched this last night.

I will miss his contributions to public debate hugely.

The first part of a two-part look back at one of Radio 4’s best-loved comedians. You can hear episode two on BBC Sounds from Thursday 23rd May. Not quite a biography, not quite a documentary, these programmes celebrate Jeremy Hardy’s Radio 4 life, with material from his very first appearances in stand-up shows in the mid-1980s, via his own early sitcom At Home With The Hardys, and right through to his glorious appearances on The News Quiz and I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue – as well as the very best

We listened to part 1 and were disproportionately moved to realise that one of the clips was from a recording we'd been at.
