We're off on holiday...

I've got a two day working week this week.

Wednesday we're travelling down to Salisbury of Wednesday to see my family, then Thursday it's off to Southampton to embark on a 12 days cruise to Spain and Portugal. I can't wait as I really need a break!

We're not bothering to get the internet package. I'm taking loads of books to read (and real ones at that). We'll also be able to get off the ship at the various ports, which are:

- Vigo, in Galicia
- Lisbon
- Cartagena
- Malaga
- Gibraltar
- Cadiz

We've booked tours in Cartagena and Gibraltar, partly because there is so much to see in Cartagena and the tour in Gibraltar worked out about the same as doing the various visits independently.

After a delayed departure, due to over-running radar repairs, we have arrived in Vigo. It’s a beautiful day and should get up to about 19c later this afternoon.

We're not off on holiday.

We'd planned to go to Ghent next Sunday (postponed since April 2020), but have just bowed to the inevitable omicron and postponed our train tickets till June next year.

We're now looking for somewhere in the UK to go from next weekend...

Sorry to hear that. Hope you find a decent Plan B.

We managed a few days in Romania last month. It was touch and go whether we would go, but it felt safer than the UK.

Twice in my life I've been left geniunely speechless by a view. 3 years ago it was Sinaia in Transylvania. Last month it was the Danube Delta.

I have now booked my Portuguese Camino.

I'm flying (unfortunately no practical overland route is available) out to Porto on the 27 May. I've got some time free there before starting the Camino on 29 May. I should get to Santiago on 9 June and have a couple of days there before flying back on 11 June.

Now I've just got to get the plantar fasciitis in my left foot sorted... :-\

Jon's booked a cruise to Norway with our friend Kim in April.

That sounds like a challenge to the rest of us, especially as you're bumming around Oporto for a couple of days.

I knew that, if I left it long enough, we would find something in common. What are you doing to get it sorted?

Weight loss, foot splint at night and stretching exercises in the morning. Reduced distances on walks for now.
