I see Boris has congratulated her on sticking up for her principles......odd that he even knows the word.LowlifeDes wrote: ↑5 years agoThat or gambling on a coup and returning with an enhanced reputation.

I believe her. Reading that letter is distressing; they can only make a change to prevent harm to the most vulnerable citizens of it's "revenue neutral". How many ruined lives does every million pounds of tax revenue represent? Sickening. I was going to try a reductio ad absurdum, but then I remembered when a previous tory government wouldn't ban landmines because it would cost jobs.LowlifeDes wrote: ↑5 years agoThat or gambling on a coup and returning with an enhanced reputation.
Boris is nothing if not well educated. I bet he also knows the Latin and ancient Greek for "principles", and can use it in a sentence. But not in real life.

You are quite right, I just default to the lowest denominator on offer when viewing Tories. As for Boris, I am sure that he recognises principles in real life, and is both bemused and thankful that others exhibit them as it makes them more exploitable.Joan wrote: ↑5 years agoI believe her. I’m sat in The Plough in Great Chesterford, with a plate of ham,egg and chips, having done 15 miles of mainly off road bridleway bashing. Muddy in places - but great fun.
After this, it’s 7-10 miles home, depending on which route I decide to take.

On yesterday’s ride, as I was descending on the bridleway from the Roman Road to Hildersham, a herd of deer ran across the path. A magnificent sight. Unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to whip out my phone and get a photo.

Michael Myers' (Halloween monster) mask was a Captain Kirk mask painted white.
I can't explain why that fact tickles me.

Here’s some sense from Michael Marmot - it would be nice if Matt Hancock read this instead of pursuing his ignorant right wing health agenda

In Surrey commuter belt this morning: I would estimate two thirds of people wearing poppies (and have been for most of the week)
In pizza express in Westfield Stratford shopping centre now: from my seat I can see, literally, just two poppies in a restaurant of at least eighty people.
