A kilo of chuleton de buey and a good bottle of Rioja for €39.

I just attended a talk by a dietitian about the recommended diet to prevent cardiovascular disease; low sodium, low saturated fat, less red meat, 10 servings for fruit and veg a day etc etc.

They could have saved a lot of time by just showing this picture and saying "not this!"

Or even more saved the two words.

Unfortunately I went to Tori & Ben's farmshop this morning and stocked up the freezer with loads of the finest beef, lamb and pork products. So I don't think I will be hitting the red meat giudelines for the next couple of weeks.

Mr R is googling gay Jerez. I think he may be disappointed...


We’re splashing out on dinner at A Mar tonight. It’s supposed to have some of the best seafood around.

Tomorrow is Cadiz - so more seafood. 😛

We started with a tomato and tuna salad:

Dare I ask, was that traditional foie gras, produced by sticking tubes down the animal's throat and force feeding them, or one of the alternative methods where they are tricked into overeating voluntarily?

It wasn’t a traditional foie gras. It was much lighter and more delicate in texture - almost like a mousse. It’s free range Spanish foie gras.
