We made it back, with a boot full of wine, spirits, charcuterie, cheese and quite a lot of smoked garlic.*

Getting through immigration on the way back was something of a long process - Lord knows what it will be like post-Brexit.

First steps of applying for Irish citizenship are underway...

*we had some with our meal on Saturday night, which was sublime, and the restaurant gave us the details of their supplier, which was a farm near Guines.

She has been good, right from the start
This, for the record, was not the start. She was a mainstay supporting player on TV comedy already by then. I recognised her as Soph when I saw that ad.

We’ve got snow... and it’s settling. Jack is very excited.

We’ve still got some snow on the ground but it’s icey as anything... A&E will be busy at Addenbrookes.

I was supposed to be there today but called it off due to snow up here.

Only ice today I have seen (sw London) is my fingers.

Chickened out of cycling though, as I have had a few of encounters with ice that have ended badly.

(note the broken bone had no bicycle involved. logic isn't always the strongest factor when dealing with fear)

I'm tempted. My dad used to build model boats (his 10ft model of the 1970s Ark Royal never made it to water because he neglected to work out how to transport it). I could do with a long term project and I enjoy making stuff.

I can confirm that, when you try to access Cycling Related using the public WiFi at Ben Gurion airport Tel Aviv, it says “unsafe to visit this site, return to previous page”. I presume some of you will take that as evidence that we must be doing something exactly right...

We’re stuck on the westbound side of the M3. Two and a half hours to do just under a mile. We’ve been stationary for the last 30 minutes.

We are not in Wales because the risk of a problem on the M4 was too high for comfort.
