That's the best known chorus which starts with something like an O.

We have now made it westwards to Bristol and have two days of rehearsals coming up for a performance of the Campra Requiem.

I know fuck all about opera.

Operas beginning with "o"? Otello. Verdi, I think.

That's me out, because Lakme, Madame Butterfly and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik don't start with O.

(I could mention Cosi Fan Tutti and Das Rheingold, but that would just be showing off)

It has been used in a commercial a few years ago, it was a guy surfing.

We should maybe have a thread for music ruined by being used in advertisements? That Lakme duet is another one. :(

The only operatic piece I could think of that fitted the description was "Oh Danny boy", even though the actual answer is my ring tone. Uncultured, moi?

Ah. Carmina Burana. I know it from a Nescafe ad and Excalibur.

Carl Orff - Carmina Burana.

I wondered about suggesting that last night, but decided it didn't fulfill the brief of starting quiet. Or being from an opera.

The song of the roasting swan is quite jolly.
