Someone should stop them pedalling this nonsense.

So sorry about your Aunt. Was it on the cards or out of the blue?

Well, she was 99. But still living independently until 3 weeks ago. So expected and unexpected in equal measure.

Really sorry to hear that Joan.

And commiserations to us all for the other thing.

Making History on R4 just repeated an edition from January featuring The Pylon Appreciation Society. Niche, but might appeal to some? ;-)

You have to follow the Twitter link for the simple joy of watching a literal boatload of people waving flags, some roughly in time, to Come on Eileen.

Sorry to sound like a snob, but these huge cruise liners are just massive all inclusive holiday camps where you can't leave. Having just been in Norway and talked to some Norwegians (and this applies everywhere - Venice being a recent story), the locals, particularly those in the hospitality industry hate them. They bowl up, pumping huge amounts of pollution into very nice locations, the holidaymakers spill out crowding everywhere but not spending a penny because all their needs are met on their all inclusive prison and then clear off as quickly as they arrived.

I can do better. I am - of course - sitting in a Waitrose cafe in Surrey, drinking a free latte and eating a Pork, Beetroot & Cheese Scotch Egg; my lip literally curled while watching that video.

I also thought of CR when I read about it, but assumed it was more like @Regulator's cruise.

Apparently the fight began because someone turned up at dinner dressed as a clown even though the cruise had been advertised as non-fancy-dress.

As for apologising for being a snob, I wouldn't worry too much about that, no one else seems to.
