Yesterday morning I found a patch of ice, didn't know it was there until I ended up on the floor! Landed on my left side, shoulder, arm, hip and back are stiff, ribs are really painfull, great-time off work and I can't enjoy it due to the pain. Ah well...others have things a lot worse.

Oh no! I had the same thing happen to me several years ago on (I think) 30 December. Do consider going to a walk-in centre or at least calling 111 or your GP. My fall was in Zurich, the only time I have ever travelled without insurance, and spent 3 days convincing myself my arm wasn't broken. It was.

All the years I have lived in this house....
I am not going to bother the NHS, my ribs are bruised and there isn't anything anyone can do, even if they are broken nothing can be done. I can move around, been out for a couple of walks so no serious harm done.

Life has been pretty s**t for a while now and I have been drinking too often, not heavy just too often, so this is for my physical and mental health.
Are you doing it?

Yep. I’ve been drinking too much recently as well, as has Jon.

My dad is very poorly in hospital, treatment has been stopped and he is now receiving palliative care, when they call we can decide on the next course of action. I could quite happily drink away this afternoon but it wouldn't achieve anything.

I am thinking of the night my dad died. I was on a plane when he passed. I still miss him.

My brother last July, now my dad. The 2 most important men in my life when I was growing up.
