I doubt that she would just walk away. She might call a vote of no confidence herself though.
I don’t think that she can. If I read the Parliamentary Briefing Note correctly the Government can table confidence motions (i.e. ‘That this House has confidence in Her Majesty’s Government’) but that it is the opposition parties - and primarily the Official Opposition- that can table no confidence motions (i.e. ‘That this House has no confidence in Her Majesty’s Government’). Effectively the Government cannot censure itself.

According to Wikipedia, losing a confidence vote or winning a no confidence vote has the same result.

If you read the Parliamentary Briefing Note it is very clear that is not the case - particularly now the Fixed Term Parliaments Act 2011 is in force.

Sooo, will she lose by 100+ votes or less?
Fewer.

That's a point of grammatical pedantry, obvs. She'll lose by about 200.

(And since the vote may very well have been declared by now I might look stupid.)

Ouch! She lost by 230 votes.

202 for. 432 against.

Over two thirds of those voting thought the deal was crap.

Or don't really understand what they were voting on. Anyone who thinks Brexit is important should have supported her.

That implies that there are about 140 in the payroll vote (95 commons ministers plus 46 PPSs). Which suggests that she was only supported by about 60 MPs making their own decision.

Those great political and economic thinkers, Reiver and Skipdiver John, think the answer is to make Rees-Mogg Prime Minister...

I see the usual Parliamentary Hard Brexiteers are suggesting that it's up to the EU to sort out the Brexit mess.

They really don't get it, do they?

They get it very well. Keep feeding the skip divers of this world that it's all the fault and responsibility of the EU and the Remainers, get them even more wound up about it, to drive on towards a no deal.

I'm not sure that she'll win the confidence vote tonight (don't forget that she wasn't supposedly going to lost last night's vote by such a margin). I think there may be sufficient rebellious Tory MPs who see this as a route to leveraging a second referendum (as May will be so desperate to win the next vote of confidence that she may concede to it).
