I just can't call what's going to happen, either. I hate uncertainty and I hate last minute decisions. It'll be far worse for businesses planning investment, managing supply chains and trying to work out how to keep customers. We are in the Dales at the moment - large parts of the economy depend on the hill farmers. If the Govt decides to slash import tariffs on sheep and dairy products, there are many that will simply go bankrupt. I'm losing sleep over this but my problems pale into insignificance compared with these farmers and the people in this area.

Almost no one will come out of it unscathed, and we all know this, (aside from those most determined to ignore the evidence and I'll admit there's an awful lot of them) it's worse whichever way you cut it. Yet May keeps staggering on. There's no point in dredging up the evidence now, there's no point in highlighting the corruption, it has been pushed aside for the sake of political careers.
With a slight shift in my mindset I could quite easily have a good cry about all this right now.

I have just had a conversation with a couple of strangers about this zero tariffs thing. One of them actually thought that, if we slash our tariff on something, it works both ways. The degree to which people are not much better informed three years on is frightening.
