I think some of the candidates in the Tory leadership debates played their hands well. I normally tend not to take in the names of the lesser members of cabinet, but last night I was listening to the news, and they quoted Rory Stewart on Ebola. I must have heard his name dozens of times before May announced her resignation, but yesterday was the first time that he got name recognition with me. I mean, it wasn't a lot just "oh, that's the funny man from Kew Gardens with the big mouth who does fake selfies and seemed reasonable". But it's a start. And now I can add to it "spoke sensibly about the possibly impending Ebola disaster". By the next general election, I may actually know who he is.

The irony is that it's not the opinions that are especially orthogonal, it's the mode of approaching the desired end goal.

I am sure you are right.

I find UK politics often opaque. I have only lived in electorates that are Tory/Lib Dem. I realised a long time ago I would never vote Tory, so not much thought has been required.

The angry posts are outside my experience. I don't understand why Corbyn is toxic to so many. If I could plausibly vote for him, I would find out. I can't so I don't.

So yeah. Nothing plausible to google here.
