A few people we know felt pretty awful after having their 1st jab.
We are still waiting for ours.

8 weeks and counting. I can't book through NHS site, apparently because I already have one jab and have to get the second from the same source.

I will call my GP in a couple of weeks.

Have you tried to book it yourselves?

Didn't know you could, just waiting for the vulnerable to receive their doses.

The vulnerable have all had theirs, or at least been offered it. It's only over 56 now, but if you are allowed to book, do it. The max vaccination sites are not working at full capacity; you won't be stealing someone's place!

There's a bit of a struggle going on at the moment with test centres trying to maximise the number of vaccinations they can administer every day. No-shows, advertising availability, having enough doses available on a certain day while not opening a new batch only to have to throw some away at the end of the shift. They haven't got it right, but it's difficult. And then you've got the local Facebook groups which have been telling people from the start how to circumnavigate the imperfect system and causing more problems, citing anecdotes like "the bloke directing traffic in the car park said that I should tell everyone to ignore the guidance and book online", and this has led to people jumping the queue and denying the more needy a jab.

I don't know what the answer is. The guidance has always been to wait for your invite, but it seems that the government aren't too fussed if people aren't.

Over-55s are in group 8, but it's only been in this last week that local authorities have been asked to identify the unpaid carers they know about so that they can be invited. Unpaid carers are in group 6.

My understanding is if you tried to register directly, you would only be allowed to book if you entitled. And obviously those in earlier groups should go through first, but standing back when there are slots going unbooked doesn't help anyone.

We have never wasted any vaccine, but a few calls were made one Sunday to make sure we had enough walk-ins to cover for the no-shows.

There was a specific issue in Bristol recently where the website was allowing a group (under 65s) to register, but the NHS didn't want people to before they had the invite. They had to put media messages out to try to counter the local FB groups telling people that if the website allowed then that meant that they could.

Two weeks ago the front page of the NHS site was saying 64 and over, plus the other groups. It was however allowing bookings 60 and over. The letters to people over 60 were in the post at that time.

I have hardly seen an over 60 at various vaccine sites in the last 3 weeks. I'd estimate about 80% were born in the 60s.

Sorry, I meant over 65s.
