Not cycling, but still important.

Oh, bugger.

At least you are providing data, I guess. I assume you report positive tests to them?

A little less than 3 weeks, I think it's 28 days.

You will be super immune!

Caught up with a friend over the weekend, including a long ride with 2 coffee breaks and lunch on Saturday and a train ride together unmasked yesterday.

She had two positive LFT yesterday evening.

😱 and 🤞

Jon's gone back to work today (his isolation finished at midnight last night). First time at the hospital for three weeks...

My Covid booster jab is now booked for this Wednesday (3 November) - 29 days after my +ve test for Covid.

Still struggling to get a 'flu jab though.

We got some supply and I was due to have it - only to get Covid and have to go into isolation (so no trip to the hospital). We're now waiting for fresh stock - hopefully some will be delivered later this week, in which case I may get the 'flu jab before we go on holiday next week.

Finally managed to find a pharmacy with some 'flu vaccine... half an hour's drive away in Suffolk.

My appointment is booked for Friday morning, giving me a few days to get over any side effects before we board the ship next Thursday.

Another member of the 3 jabs club here. I'm immunosuppressed, or so they tell me, so technically mine wasn't a booster, but it's the same thing (perhaps with the addition a blessing over the needle by a member of clergy).

Well, I am no longer a guinea pig. I had my last Cov-BOOST clinical trial appointment this morning. The trial is finishing early, due to changes in the booster regime.

I got a very American "thank you for your service" from the nurse...

The booster vaccine has been opened by the centre for a number of groups:
  • front line clinical staff
  • CEV/CV patients
  • those over 65
  • those over 50 but under 65
The order in which those groups will be vaccinated will vary locally. Most NHS areas are prioritising the first three and opening appointments for the latter group some time in October.

Unfortunately, the centre are saying things without making it clear that it may vary locally.

This is one occasion where I would say to people that a quick call to your GP practice just checking the local situation is worth the effort. At the same time, check what's happening with the 'flu jab, as once again it will vary locally.

Can I encourage everyone to get both jabs if eligible? This winter is not going to be nice and the NHS is already on its knees...
