Good News

Post by Joan » 7 years ago

I realise that everything I want to post is about Donald Trump destroying Western democracy, or global warning being worse than predicted, or my PTSD etc etc. And yes, I will post all of them. But in the meantime, let's share good news.

I'll start.

UK woman rescued 10 hours after falling from cruise ship in Adriatic
(it's still an open question why she fell off: but I'm contend it wasn't alcohol or drugs. No one who is so impaired they can fall off a cruise ship, will survive 10 hours in the water.)

I've been having a couple of very frustrating days, dealing with several incompetent and unreasonable CCGs and CSUs on behalf of some of our hospitals.

The Hospital Directors have each sent me an Instant Award (they have a discretionary budget they can use to provide awards to staff for going the extra mile). I don't really expect anything as I'm doing my job - I'm there to provide air cover for the HDs in such matters - but it was really nice to get the recognition (the fact an award has been made is public within the company).

So now I have a £100 to play with... and I had my eye on a rather nice bottle of gin.
