Cycling Related

Just to confirm that the Piec-nic is sill going ahead on Saturday 8 September in Cambridge.


We will be meeting in the market square in central Cambridge, before visiting various emporia for food and drink. We'll then be cycling at a genteel pace to Granchester where we'll make a pilgrimage to the gin cafe and distillery, before spreading our picnic blankets on Granchester Meadows.

The plan is to meet at Snowy's statue at 10.30 a.m. There will be a feeder ride from Trumpington Park and Ride (c. 9.45 am) and Cambridge train station (the main one - not the North one) at 10.00 a.m.

Sorry Reg but Fabbers and i will be in the Cotswolds collecting Basil. However we are always up for another Gin fest at another time :-))))

I will try to make one of these, one day.

Shame I will miss this one, but I'll be drinking Chang in Thailand .

I’m afraid I’m not able to join you all for this Piec-nic. No 1 son flies in to Heathrow from Fiji - we’ve not seen him since March this year and I’ll be there to greet him. I hope the festivities go well and I’m looking forward to seeing the snaps.

I'm really sorry Reg, but I'm another no-show. Replacement buses in Sussex would mean a longer than usual journey and starting off at an unearthly hour, and my plan to visit my friends who live near Cambridge hasn't worked out either. Maybe there will be another one next spring?

Due to an emerging family issue, I'm afraid I'm going to have to cancel the Piec-nic.

My deepest apologies to anyone who was looking forward to attending (there must have been at least one person who isn't buggering off to sunny climes or picking up a pet).

I'm going to work on a plan for a Spring get together...

Ah, sadness.

I decided yesterday that I had conquered my PTSD to the point I could play with others, and had nearly decided to sign up.

Now I will have to cycle around my local area and neck a bottle of gin in private.

(hoping "emerging family issue" is as low key as that throwaway implies.

I've not disappeared, but my laptop was attacked by a Russian spambot virus in what people who know about these things call a Brute Force Attack and I've been tied up with trying to sort it out. That and whizzing over to the Grand Départ of the ToB.
