Trying to keep up with Trump.

Post by Dunckel » 5 years ago

With Cohen and Manafort taking up news media time this week, I find it jaw dropping to read all the other fsilures, trips and illegal behavior that has come to light over the last few days.

Here is a summary piece in the Guardian

https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/201 ... mpeachment

Any one of the things mentioned would be a blow for any President, but for this one they are hardly worth a mention.

Jaw-dropping indeed, especially that BBC interview in which, when confronted with the lies Trump has told, a voter replied that "they all lie", as if that makes it OK. Where is there left to go with this?

I see now that the question is not if it will end, but how it will end. Those with the political ability to remove him are waiting for the mid terms in November. Mueller still has a lot of evidence to get through, including of course Cohen who only decided to talk voluntarily this week, and we can't rule out him directly and stupidly implicating himself in some activity that means everyone has to act immediately.

I’m not sure. It’s onlt trump and his team mentioning impeachment. They’re banking on the threat of it being enough to get his base and a bit more beyond to come out and vote in midterms.

There’s millions of Americans who are blaming their poverty on 8 years of Obama and they couldn’t care less how many porn stars their president paid off or how many dodgy Russian Facebook posts were paid for by him. They believe he is the best person to help them out. They will vote fir him en masse.

The only hope to remove him will be to get enough independents or demographics who tend to vote in small numbers fired up enough to get out and vote. I reckon it’s too close to call.

The Democrats are not talking about impeachment because they know Trump will jump on it to get his base mobilised. With regard to the Republicans, they want to see how bad the situation is so they can assess how their own careers may be affected come the next full election.

I find it jawdropping (and worrying) that whatever comes out doesn't seem to be making a difference.

Such is his lack of shame and feeling of absolute entitlement, he will not acknowledge the trouble he is in imho.
