Interesting. I had thought that the thread would be recognised as a thinly disguised version of "what foods would you find it difficult to live without", but it is true that whatever foods might one day be in short supply it is still perfectly possible, and perhaps easier, to eat a healthy diet.
Actually, now I come to think about it, shortages might be an opening for "the food industry" to produce even more junk consisting largely of cheap bulking agents, so what was true in WWII might no longer be so.

To say nothing of the unregulated shite that we may be lining ourselves up for.

You're probably right, I'm rather Brexit obsessed currently.
Anyway, I've order my veg seeds and seed potatoes, I shall dig for victory.

When we were kids we sometimes got cuttlefish off the beach for our nan's budgie, I suppose you will still be able to resort to that if it comes to it?

I'm not far from loads of beaches so plenty of seaweed, shellfish and crab too. Not tried cuttlefish bone mind, would have thought it'd be akin to licking a rock. Even I'm not that pessimistic yet but I'll keep it on the back burner.

Don't you use it to sharpen your beak then, @Sonic Budgie ?
