And the beer?
Last night - Leffe. Undistinguished.

A Leffe to finish a fine day's cycling. Thyme and lavender scented verges, plane and poplar trees, vineyards and olive groves. I was defeated by an enormous cassoulet in Castelnaudary, by the boats on the Canal du Midi.

Funnily enough I'm currently at a service station within a few km of Castelnaudary, on the canal du midi. Since I'm driving I won't have a beer until I get to Toulouse airport.

The historical record (https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/pag ... 76964&v=2H) would suggest that I had rice pudding after finishing my Castelnaudary cassoulet last time I was there. I believe the historical record is a little inaccurate.

Beer in the lounge was 1664, plain or with lime juice. I've had a pastis and a glass of wine.

An apricot sour in the UnBarred Brewery tap. It is indeed sour.

I also had a taste of the Bueno milkshake, which is pudding sorted.

You'll be staggered to learn that I exercised restraint and drank a demi, as I still had 70km to ride. Still, it was good stuff: similar to a Belgian blonde, not too sweet, and good malt character.

Excellent Imperial Stout. We were also treated to a local alternative comedian group, who invited us to shout out our emotions. I stayed at the back and stared at my beer.

Malty, some fruit and a dry finish. Decent.
