Associating berry flavours with sour beers, having them in a bitter is a bit bizarre. It is a bit reminiscent of a pink medicine I had as a child.

One with a pancake for lunch, one with some rather good Malaysian satay after we'd failed to get into the Indonesian place.

The spicy one is basically a Pils with slightly fancy hops and just a hint of chilli warmth. And is rather good.

I've just spent a (short) evening here...

...and have worked my way through most of the bits of the list I'm interested in. I didn't quite have the stamina to get onto the barley wines.

Yes, I know, I'm a lightweight - in alcoholic tolerance if nothing else. But there's a limit to the extent you can talk bollocks with insurance risk professionals, and a limit to the extent you can take the piss when someone else is paying. And I was feeling a bit under par.

From memory...

Ordinary lager - good for the style
White beer - German style, and OK
Brunette brown ale - nice, but not as much depth of flavour as I'd hoped
Honey beer - the pick of the piece. A good, deep, honey flavour.
Lenten bock - strong and bitter without the decent rounded flavour the style needs.

And if I can remember five different beers, it must have been a short evening.
