I woke up with a sore throat yesterday, and I now have a rip roaring chest infection. So it looks like a trip to the quack for some antibiotics (if I can get an appointment)... :(
Do you have contacts in the NHS? They may be able to push you up the queue a little.

GWS BTW

Also, are you important yet, how did the elections go?

Did you get to the docs @Regulator?

On an unrelated note, having looked at today's Google doodle, I wish a very happy birthday to Dr Smear.

Unfortunately, Jon can’t prescribe for me.

I topped the poll and have my first Council meeting on Wednesday.

I must remember how lucky I am with my GP. I have never rung them in the morning with the wish of seeing a doctor that day (for a pressing matter) and not got an appointment. My favourite was walking in at lunch time with a black eye and my arm in a sling. They told me to come back at 3.

GWS!

I had a telephone consultation. The GP won't prescribe any antibiotics 'at this time' - she wants to see if it'll clear up without them.

I am tempted to use Jon's Dremel to relieve the pressure in my sinuses...

Go to the dentist.......it seems their threshold for prescribing is a tad lower. Bloody evidence based medicine.

If you are getting drugs from a vet, can I suggest you skip the antibiotics, and just get special K?

Gravel is on tour with one of his university friends. They are cycling from Munich to Venice. EasyJet smashed his mate’s rear derailleur and they had to replace it and straighten the frame on day 1. Day 2 his mate’s pedals fell off - they realised that they had put them on the wrong way round after the flight. Not bad for two Cambridge graduates, both with a first.

They’ve just stopped for lunch

How’s Gravel’s tour of foreign A&E departments going?

Ha ha ha!! Fingers crossed he's not visited too many at the moment. He's somewhere in the Austrian alps taking a day off and enjoying a mountain spa. Bloody snowflakes.....they really don't know anything about the hardships of tours. When I think about poor old Vernon and all that absinthe he was made to drink.......

The view from yesterday's lunch stop

According to the automated call I've just on my home phone line, apparently BT is going to cut off my broadband in the next 24 hours due to hacking activity on my IP address...

Would it spoil the scam to point out that BT doesn't supply our broadband?

My mum has just had a call from 'HMRC' saying they are on their way to arrest her for not paying her income tax. She hung up without speaking......good for her.

She should have asked them to pick up some tea bags and loo rolls from Waitrose on their way over...
