One can listen on line. I won't, cause I'll be in Paris 😏
I would rather be in Paris than Leicester tomorrow. Work of pleasure?

Pleasure, catching up with an good friend. We went to Sacre Coeur (Glen Iris) together, so obviously we should go to...um,what's the name of that church? Notre Dame? No, that's not it....

Things didn't work out this morning, apparently the clues were solved very quickly and the radio had been and gone by 9.30. I didn't ride either because the weather arrived.

Exmouth Exodus last night. It was a cracker, and we finished before the rain hit. Got a proper soaking on the way back to Exeter so dried out in the pub. 220km on the clock.

Boudicca on the bank of the Vistula. I’ve stopped for a fresh lemonade.

Yesterday's regular Tuesday club ride went to a lovely pub for lunch. Normally we order and pay individually at the bar first, then eat, then leave when we're ready. Yesterday it was table service, and to complicate matters as we were ready to leave a couple of club members who haven't been too well turned up, so there was a bit of milling about and chitchat, then most of us went out, got on our bikes and rode off - without paying for the lunch. The one bloke who remained behind to buy the latecomers a drink ended up settling the bill, which must have been at least £70. I only realised I hadn't paid as I was riding down the street to my front door <blush>.

I’m just back from a lovely 38 miles in the autumn sunshine. What made it better was the A34 was closed and all the roads in Oxford were jammed. Thank gotfor cycle paths.

I'm waiting for a train in Salisbury, having bailed on a 300km audax. My heart started racing for no apparent reason, even when descending. Seeing 200+bpm when my maximum is 185 was disconcerting, to say the least.

Still, 200km done and I had time for a pint, so not a total disaster.

You weren't a bit dehydrated, by any chance?

I don't think so - I drank plenty on the ride and laid off alcohol for a couple of evenings beforehand. It's a bit of a mystery...

Anyway, feeling better now.

Are you planning on going to see your doctor about it?

If it only happens once, the doctor will simply nod sagely and say to come back if it starts happening regularly and you can't explain it. "I was 200km into a hard bike ride" is a pretty good explanation

I get a regular cardiology checkup because of family history and at the last one I told a similar story - albeit through a different form of activity. The specialist was more interested in checking that I could get up from a chair.

I would suggest that someone riding a 300km audax should see a psychologist rather than a doctor.
