Meanwhile...
Re: Meanwhile...
Seriously, is there anything better than a hotel upgrade?
Are you on the floor with the happy hour? I have never enjoyed that, but I have friends who will fly around the world for 3 G&Ts - not literally, but they love the happy hour.

Folks, close your curtains!
I want to keep respecting my neighbours, but it's hard to when I walk past their house, and right their in their front room, they are ....sorry, if I shock you....they are watching an Adam Sandler movie!!

Re: Meanwhile...
No happy hour here, but they do have free waffles in the afternoon and a free evening meal for guests. It's a soup, a single main dish and some cake, but I've never heard of that. Anyway, time to come home.

On the plane back from Inverness yesterday we were sat next to the bloke off "Escape to the Country". I had no idea who he was, but he obviously thought he was important because he wore sunglasses inside the aircraft.

Jules Hudson
I didn't say hello or ask for a pic because it isn't my thing but I know it was him.

Re: Meanwhile...
I think Lullabelle's unusual in not speaking to or photographing a person off the telly. Most people don't seem to be able to resist, as if posting an image on their social media page means the (minor) fame has rubbed off somehow. No wonder he wore sunglasses, and most likely sat stock still doing and saying nothing in case he got caught unawares. Not a great life in many respects.

I was once on a train just across the aisle from Peter White. I was sorely tempted to strike up a conversation in order to ask why, when he had done such worthwhile things on In Touch and Does He Take Sugar, he demeaned himself by lending his talents to the odious You and Yours. But I resisted.

Might it just be because he has to earn a living? Or are blind people only meant to do things that are issue-led, pure, and 'worthwhile'?JohnToo wrote: ↑4 years agoI was once on a train just across the aisle from Peter White. Re: Meanwhile...
No, it had nothing to do with his being blind, and everything to do with my visceral loathing of the smug entitled small-horizons materialistic complacency of You and Yours

Re: Meanwhile...
Why would you assume that his blindness is of relevance here? I suspect we can all think of examples of broadcasters we admire who have lent their talents to programmes we dislike.

Re: Meanwhile...
Blind person is involved in two marvellous disability-focused programmes, then falls off his pedestal with a popular consumer magazine one. Seemed relevant to me.
