Yep. My pint tasted of hand sanitiser.

Re: Meanwhile...
Thank you, he had been poorly for a long time, he is no longer struggling or suffering which is a blessing.

A (reasonably) socially isolated harp recital in the front garden of a lady from church whose hundredth birthday was today.

Re: Meanwhile...
My daughter (early twenties, professional woman, but little interest in mechanics) bought a new bike. On her first ride she found it wouldn't change into the higher gears. She took it back to the shop. "Oh, all new bikes are like that, you just need to give it time" the man said. But he also "twiddled something with a screwdriver" (her description) and it magically started working. Bollocks to "give it time": we'd all bet that the limit screw was set wrong, but rather than admit a mistake, he thought he'd get away with fobbing off a girlie with some bullshit. Git.

I think I shall venture into the city centre for the first time since March. I don’t need anything in particular- I’m just interested in what it will be like.

Re: Meanwhile...
Not quite. It was very empty with many shops still closed. The market was open but not all the stalls.
What was very noticeable was the absence of tourists.
