Re: Meanwhile...
You have been worrying so much for your dad and brother. I am happy you are finding some peace.Lullabelle wrote: ↑3 years agoDoing ok thanks, most relaxed I have felt for a long time, how are you?
I'm doing fine, mostly mad vaccine stewarding. Walked around 19km the other day, at least 17 of them were up and down a corridor escorting patients to get vaccinated.

Re: Meanwhile...
Tomorrow afternoon dad is being interned, mixed feelings, ready to lay him to rest but it will also feel final.
I booked today off work, sat at the table and worked on my jigsaw in complete silence, it was lovely, mum popped up in my thoughts, wasn't thinking of anything particular, maybe she was trying to tell me she is ready for him.

Hey @Lullabelle, thank you for sharing that. It's given me goosebumps yet made me happy. I am not at peace at all with my mum dying 6 years ago and my dad 6 months before that. The reasons are complicated, and I can't share them.
I shed some gentle tears for your parents yet feel a little better in myself.
I hope tomorrow is healing for you.

Re: Meanwhile...
It was a beautiful sunny day, the plaque and urn were both lovely, my sister chose a lovely poem, I couldn't let go of dad's urn, just kept kissing and hugging.
They are back together. May they both rest in peace together.

Re: Meanwhile...
Yesterday my sister and I went through the last of dad's stuff.
Some of the photos of us 3 kids when very little will never again see the light of day (questionable fashion), some of my grandma when she was young-she passed in 1998 aged 84, it was lovely to see pics of her when she was young, some with her mum and siblings, never met great-grandad he passed long before us kids were born.
So many memories came flooding back. Just me and my sister left now, we never fell out just drifted apart over the years but rebonding again.

I got stuck at a vaccine gig and wasn't able to get to Clapham Common. Feel I let the terrorists win.

Don't be so hard on yourself, Joan. Everyone knows there were many more people there in spirit than were able to attend. X

If the police hadn't banned it, it think it would have finished by 6.15pm. A minutes silence only takes a minute. I wouldn't have got there until close to 6.30pm, so decided not to bother.
As it turns out, I would have arrived before the arrests started.

A definite sign of spring. I have just sat outside in a patch of sunshine to cut my fingernails.
