Covid-19 Pandemic Thread

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread
Got my 1st yesterday, AZ flavour. The injection didn't hurt but I don't recall someone punching me in the same spot as hard as they could, oh well, still worth it.

If I touch it, I can still feel the injection site three weeks later.

If just your arm is sore, you got off lightly! I have met a few people afraid of the AZ injection, and it turns out they were so sick last time, and they were afraid the second jab would be worse.
I think I am going to have a bit of a reaction, as my arm is already sore, and many have a stronger reaction to second dose of Pfizer.

PS: I was santa this evening. We had a dozen doses over and I ended up sending a few late 40s neighbours in for a last minute vaccinations.

The injection site is a little sore, and I'm feeling a bit groggy today - but nothing especially material.

If having a massive hangover on Saturday morning was a side effect, then maybe not so lightly.Joan wrote: ↑3 years agoIf just your arm is sore, you got off lightly! I’ve just booked a weekend away in North Yorkshire at the end of April. I’m going to get fitted for boots at Alt-Berg. First time we’ve been away from home for about 6 months (our Christmas trip was cancelled).
We’ll be staying in a posh shepherd’s hut on a farm just north of Richmond...

We booked for Greece (pre-lockdown) for the end of June. We went last year too. Am still hopeful.

Haven't made plans. Australia is sadly far out of reach, and probably will remain so for a long time.
Meanwhile, I am imagining a shepherd's hut just north of Richmond, Surrey

I'm hoping to see some sun over the winter. Nothing is booked beyond June (English Channel coast) and I'm not expecting to be able to get somewhere I actually want to go over the summer.

For those of you with travel booked, may I ask, is your criterion "as long as the government rules allow it, we're going", or are you going to be applying an extra criterion of your own assessment of risk? Would there be circumstances where the government allowed it but you still decided not to go?

Re: Covid-19 Pandemic Thread
For us it's more about what we'd be coming back to. If it's 10 days in a hotel or stuck in the house then that would have an impact on the decision.JohnToo wrote: ↑3 years agoFor those of you with travel booked, may I ask, is your criterion "as long as the government rules allow it, we're going", or are you going to be applying an extra criterion of your own assessment of risk? That's assuming that we feel the risk of bringing anything back is low enough to be acceptable. So to answer your question directly I think it depends on what the government's reasoning is for whatever rules they have in place at the time and whether we're happy with it.
Last year there was a window where the government would have permitted us to go to Croatia, but we decided to stay in the UK.
