I replaced the door seal on our washing machine. That involves removing sundry top and front panels. These were held on by, variously, two sizes of torx, a Philips in a hex, a Philips without the hex, and a hex only (which could only be got at with a nut driver not a spanner).

Who seriously specifies this stuff and what sort of supply chain do they have?

The sort of firm that wants to make it tricky for someone other than their own repair network to get into the box?

Lord Finchley tried to mend the Electric Light
Himself. It struck him dead: And serve him right!
It is the business of the wealthy man
To give employment to the artisan.

We went to see All Is True last night, Kenneth Brannah’s latest Shakespeare take, aka Ben Elton turning Upstart Crow serious. We really quite liked it - albeit Brannah’s camera angles are a bit arty farty in places. It was pleasant to watch something slow-burn,understated and sensitive for a change.

The shed has had its annual clean out.

There is a hint of spring today and the first of my daffodils are beginning to show their flower buds.

This certainly improves the mood.

Oh no! That sounds like quite a tumble. Hope she makes a good recovery. Having broken 3 bones and never had a kid, I can state with confidence it's the worst pain a human can experience.

GWS.

BTW, you might want to learn how to spell humerus. It's hard enough not making jokes about it when it's not spelt the same.

Thanks!! Yes, the spelling isn’t great is it!!

The worst part about the trip to A&E was when a junior doctor ordered a nurse to test the Prof’s cardiac enzymes and do an ECG despite the fact he’d only looked at her notes, did not even visit her in the cubicle let alone examine her. The chest pain was obviously coming from the broken ribs.......silly boy.

I trust the prof had some good teaching advice for him.
